Phil first joined the CIAM family as a volunteer, bringing in music and content. Now as a full-time missionary, he is responsible for technical development of significant future media developments.

When a brother or sister in Christ known for over 40 years comes to your home with a group of young disciples of Jesus, you can’t help but be overjoyed in serving together. The LaCrete Christian fellowship senior youth group came to stay with us while coming to Edmonton to serve in various capacities to experience different ways to serve the Lord. A particular highlight was the recording and production of a series of personal stories to be aired on CIAM. These young people and leaders caught on to the relevance of storytelling for a listening audience. Not only that, but everyone learned how to use their personal devices to do the recording and editing, which became a powerful tool for ministry. These stories will be on the CIAM broadcast and followed up with an invitation to connect with a mentor 1 and 1, a new CIAM mentoring initiative. I’m very excited to hear about how more lives will be transformed through these stories as told by the LCCF senior youth and leaders.

We’re not even 50 and Rhonda and I are blessed to become grandparents to not one but 2 grandsons. We feel inexpressibly blessed in our family. Our daughter and sons, their spouses and sometimes other close friends come to our home on Sundays for close fellowship, nourishment and celebrations.

A difficult lesson learned this year was that deeply held hopes and aspirations for the Choice project to be completed would not come to fruition in the anticipated time frame. The importance of carrying on with development wasn’t a question; however, adjusting to limitations of capacity, time zones, and scope of work has resulted in a temporary pause on this important aspect of CIAM Media’s development. Pray for us as we seek God’s provision for local technical developers and a team lead.

Thanks to our supporters, the CIAM support center in Edmonton is able to keep up with technological advancement. Maintaining several websites, providing the infrastructure to distribute broadcast content to over 30 locations is vital for CIAM to operate. Even beyond that, supporters have contributed quality computing and firewall hardware and technical expertise to make the infrastructure safer from hackers and deliberate attempts to undermine the gospel work. The donated equipment will also allow CIAM to continue current and future project development in house.
