Finding Rest in Christ, Moving Forward in Faith

We recognize this does not mean believers should be lazy, but that once we have peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ, there is no more striving to be right with God on our own efforts. Jesus Christ is our rest, and we have entered into Him by grace. Now we labour for the Kingdom of God, but it is from a place of joy and contentment, trusting God to accomplish His good and perfect will just as He did in our salvation. There is no place as restful as resting in Jesus Christ.

That is a good reminder for us as we approach the Christmas season, and the beginning of a new year. Are you resting in Christ, or still striving on your own? As the Board of Revive FM, broadcasting at 101.7 in Peace River and 95.5 in Manning, we have been learning to rest in Christ. There have been some major changes to our group in 2024, with Les and Sharon Hibbard moving away in October. Sixteen plus years of faithful service in this broadcast, with Sharon serving both as secretary and treasurer. We are so grateful for their commitment to the broadcast, and labour of love for Christ. We miss them already! Yet we rest in Christ.

We are thankful that God has raised up Tom Gayton to fill the vacant roles, and that Tom is able to commit to this while continuing to create unique, Canadian focused, content for the Revive show. Prayerfully God will continue to provide strength where it is needed, and more volunteers to carry the load. One of our desires for the coming year is to have increased representation from local churches on the Board of Revive FM.

We are also deeply grateful to those who have continued to support this broadcast. It is such a blessing to know there are faithful men and women who stand behind the station in both prayer and financial giving. You are a blessing to us, and to your communities. May you experience rest in Christ this Christmas season, and in all that He has in store for you in the new year.

On behalf of the Revive FM board,

Pastor Dan Sandford
