Revive 101.7 FM 2023 Devotional

Greetings from Revive FM in Peace River and Manning

Revive FM has been a stable and healthy broadcast for several years now. God has blessed us with faithful supporters and loyal listeners. We thank
God for each and every one of you! But in the midst of that stability there is an ongoing tension, the tension between complacency and increased investment for greater impact. There is a healthy expectation upon Christian ministry to “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.(Eph 5:15-16)

We really do want to make the most of every opportunity. Our desire as a radio station is to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ until everyone
has heard. We endeavour to avoid complacency, which so easily creeps in, and be effective ministers of the Word of God and the hope of Jesus Christ.

In line with that intent, we have been praying that God would provide a community coordinator, that God would increase our community
involvement, and that God would expand the listening audience. And although elements of that seem to be unfolding at times, we do not see it
progressing as we would like. That can be discouraging.

But why is it discouraging? Why do we get frustrated when we don’t see the results we desire? Do we need to see positive results to be encouraged?
Don’t get me wrong, positive results are exactly that, positive! But our peace, and joy, and contentment are not dependant on them. Those things
are found in Christ alone! And who is the One in control of the outcome, whether positive or negative? God is! He has called us to be careful how
we live, and to take every opportunity, and to redeem the time, but ultimately He is in control of the outcome.

You see, the measure of success is not in how many people you reach, or how much transformation you see, the measure of success is whether you
have been faithful to Christ in what He has called you to. The measure of success for Revive FM is whether we have been faithful in what God has
called us to. God has called us – and you as well, if you are trusting in Christ for the forgiveness of sins and everlasting life – to be “servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.” (1 Cor 4:1-2)

May we joyfully and faithfully serve Him in whatever way He calls us until the day we see Him face to face.
