Sunrise Antenna

Waiting on the Lord

In June we were waiting on the Lord. We at Sunrise Radio are thanking Him for His mercy and grace. The first week in July, the new tower sites, in Dawson Creek 107.5 and Fort St. John 92.5, were activated and have been in testing mode. This is no doubt a bit annoying to our listeners.

October 5th, a crew from the Science and Economic Development Canada showed up, unannounced, to evaluate and test the sites. Both sites passed at two thousand watts, praise to the Lord! 92.5 FM, however, is only operating at 100 watts.

The problem is interference with internet providers on the new tower. Several climbs have been needed to install the antenna and try to remedy the interference problem. A new backup power will need to be purchased, as our system will not fit into the new tower shed. We are grateful for the
tower owner and specialists involved, for their perseverance in pursuing a solution. The new Dawson Creek tower presented challenges, as well, requiring overtime for workers and equipment.

We are looking forward to a better quality signal in Fort St John to be more accessible in homes, hospital, and care-homes. When we can broadcast from Fort St. John at 2000 watts, this will also improve reception in Prespatou, as far as Chetwynd.

Praise & Prayer

Praise God for:
  • Safety in all the climbs and installs
  • Approval of both sites
  • Faithful supporters and volunteers
Please Pray for:
  • Solving the interference issue
  • Volunteer to record the weather
  • Volunteer to host the noon and morning shows
  • Increase in listenership

With much gratitude for your prayerful support,
Sunrise Radio Broadcasting Association

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the Lord’s name is to be praised.
