Greetings from The Light

It has been a difficult year for us at The Light 98.5 in Vanderhoof. Early in the year we lost our longtime board member and weather announcer, Stan Giesbrecht. He left a big hole in the ministry. Then in August, Maryann Giesbrecht who is our treasurer and weather announcer as well, lost her husband, Peter. Yet God has been so faithful to them and to us as a radio station. He has upheld and comforted through the sorrow and the trials. His grace is truly amazing.
Terry was able to bring our costs down by arranging a good deal on our phone and internet.
We held our annual Radio-A-Thon during the Morning Show the second week of September. We raised an amazing $14,000, easily surpassing our goal. We hope to hold a gathering early in the New Year to gather our supporters and listeners together, not only for raising funds, but for so much more. We had a booth at the Pumpkin Walk this year handing out treats, bookmarks, bracelets and information on our Children’s shows.
The Morning Show continues three days a week from 7 – 9. You can listen via our website on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Our Carrier show, Sizi Sk’entsi, continues on Monday nights and we also have Shepherd’s Voice featuring area pastors at 11 and 5 on weekdays.
Please pray for a volunteer to help Maryann with the weather as she is taking the full load right now.
