Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up
– Galatians 6:9
BY MICHAEL SANDSTROM
This year we have been blessed visiting our dear friends in northern Alberta, during the harvest season, where CIAM’s first station started in Fort Vermilion. We reflected on the bountiful harvest and how it all started with careful planning, preparation of the soil, seeds being sown and eventually in God’s perfect timing and will, diligent workers bringing in a Harvest. We pondered how CIAM started with small beginnings over 20 years ago and now broadcasting the Good News in over 30 locations across Canada. We are filled with awe and deep gratitude to the Lord and for all of you who have prayed, supported and been involved with CIAM so faithfully over the years. We also thought about our many listeners and those being impacted by the daily broadcast both through Christ centered music and teaching of God’s Word. Jesus said, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest (John 4:35). The CIAM mission family recognizes the urgency to reach out to our friends and neighbors with the Gospel with a living, transparent and contagious faith while we still have time. CIAM is wholeheartedly dedicated to make sure that everyone has a chance to hear the Good News in person, over the airways, on-line or on their mobile devices. Our commitment is to use every resource and gifts God has given us to make this happen. Help us to remember that every Harvest starts with “one seed” planted first. We pray that we will respond to Jesus’ call to come and follow Him and to take the first step by faith to impact someone’s life here and now and for eternity.
The Harvest is truly plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field
– Luke 10:2
Here at CIAM we are very grateful for you and we look forward to continuing to serve Jesus our Lord together this coming year.
PRAISE & PRAYER
* CIAM, with many other charities, have been badly affected by the Canada Post strike. We are unable to effectively communicate with you as our supporters and listeners over traditional mailing. Please pray for a swift solution so that we can share updates & prayers, newsletters, and alternative ways for our supporters to donate as we are approaching year-end and the new year of 2025. It is a critical time and your support is much needed.
* Praise the Lord for the start of the VINE broadcast in Kelowna & Okanagan area that now can be heard on-line and on your mobile phone. Please pray for approval from CRTC so that we can begin broadcasting on 92.3FM soonest.
* Praise God for protection during raging fires and extreme heat waves over the CIAM broadcasts and equipment in several locations this year. By God’s grace we have had little interruptions, unfortunately some transmitters have been damaged and needed repairs and replacement. (Estimated cost $10,000)
* We thank God that we were able to complete the full power upgrade in Fort St. John. The CIAM team is working hard with Vincent to see that Grande Prairie and High Level full power upgrades can be completed soonest. We are facing some technical challenges that are affecting the final installations. High Level support is still needed to cover the cost of transmitters, antennas and installation ($5,000).
* Praise God for the full launching of the new Chinese iPhone & Android apps. It’s been a great encouragement to our Chinese listeners here at home and around the world.
* Please continue to pray for the final development of the CHOICE media mission platform. It’s been a challenge and help is much needed! We are looking to God to bring in a local leadership team of programmers and developers with the right skills to complete the project and full launch.
* Please pray for our local stations. May God call His people to serve the Lord in much needed leadership roles and volunteer positions, such as board members, community missionary coordinators, local program and on-air hosts as well as technical support.
* CIAM is grateful for the CIAM tech team (Gean, Balaji, Walter, Phil, James, Eric) that has been instrumental in our full power upgrades, installation of virtual servers and monitoring and technical matters that relates to our ongoing broadcast stability, quality and long term delivery of content.
* We thank God for the growing CIAM 1&1 Mentorship team. The need is urgent and the response from new mentors has been a great encouragement. Please continue to hold them in prayer as we move forward to full customization & mentee integration in CIAM’s broadcast platforms across Canada.
* Our dear and faithful morning host, Mark Baer, went home to be with Lord on January 2, 2024. His presence and voice in the community will be greatly missed but his example to follow Christ will forever be our example. Please hold Rieda (wife) and family in prayer.
Looking Forward to 2025
Pray for CIAM’s current faithful missionaries & volunteers, their financial support (affected by Canada Post) and many who are facing health challenges.
Pray that God would move in many Christians and local churches to partner with CIAM and consider becoming 1&1 Mentors (We pray for 30 Mentors and MC coaches) and Storytellers willing to share their testimonies on CIAM’s broadcast platforms.
Start of the new interactive CHOICE Mission Media platform
Please pray for protection over our aging broadcast equipment, including transmitters, antennas, servers and for stable broadcasting on CIAM existing FM stations and on-line and mobile broadcast platforms.
Start of more on-line & mobile broadcast locations and local mission teams in each of these communities across Canada. Please consider supporting a New Development project, which will help needy communities that don’t have sufficient financial support to start a Christian Radio and online broadcast platform. The cost of getting one station on air is $20,000.
