Melissa & Greg’s Faith Journey

In my last update, I asked for prayers through this season in my role here at CIAM as it pertains to the annual newsletter – thank you so much! It was truly a season when I had to rely on God’s strength and faithfulness (and also Greg’s help as he took on a lot of responsibilities to give me time to work and rest amidst some challenges).

The CIAM Newsletter this year is packed with devotionals, stories and testimonies of God’s steadfastness and faithfulness, I encourage you to check it out and see how God is working!

Mentorship: what’s next for me at CIAM!

We’re launching 1&1 Mentorship! I have now completed the initial training on being a 1&1 Mentor, and in the new year I will begin the more technical/administrative training for becoming a Client Admin on the 1&1 Mentorship platform.

Born so man no more may die

As we’ve been approaching advent season and Christmas to celebrate the birth of Christ, we’ve been singing a lot of Christmas carols and hymns at church, and this lyric, “born so man no more may die” has resonated with me strongly this year.

Every year sees its own challenges, changes and craziness that’s unique from years past, and 2023 is no different – on global geopolitical levels all the way down to the personal. The effects of sin and brokenness in the world are all too visible, from war to illness to the passing of a loved one. It’s been a sobering reminder that we NEED a saviour to rescue us from our failings, and to give us hope not only in eternity, but here and now today as well.

Christ was born so that we sinners would have a way to be reconciled to God in spite of our sin. He was born so that He could take on the punishment for our sin and Christ’s own righteousness would be imparted to us instead if we put our trust in Him and repent of our sin. It is in His death and resurrection that we have the power through the Holy Spirit to resist the temptations of sin today, and have hope for eternity as well. Praise God for the birth of our Lord and Saviour!

Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King: peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!” Joyful, all ye nations, rise, join the triumph of the skies; with th’angelic hosts proclaim, “Christ is born in Bethlehem!

Christ, by highest heaven adored, Christ, the everlasting Lord, late in time behold him come, offspring of the Virgin’s womb: veiled in flesh the Godhead see; hail th’incarnate Deity, pleased with us in flesh to dwell, Jesus, our Immanuel.

Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Sun of Righteousness! Light and life to all he brings,
risen with healing in his wings. Mild he lays his glory by, born that man no more may die, born to raise the sons of earth, born to give us second birth.

Partner with Melissa in prayer

God is so good! Please join me in praise & prayer:

  • The health of various people in the CIAM Family who are battling illness or are in critical condition.
  • Upcoming expansions to my role as it relates to Mentorship.
  • The launch of TheCHOICE.FM in spite of the many challenges we’ve faced with team changes.
  • For favour with the CRTC as CIAM’s new station The Vine 92.3 in Kelowna is in jeopardy of losing all progress in the application process in the wake of Bill C-11.

CIAM is listener-supported, and it is because of your faithful support in finances and prayers that media missionaries like me can continue to serve in broadcast missions, and broadcast the Good News here at home and around the world.
